2 Vacancies & Reservation

There are approximately 731 tentative vacancies. The Commission is still in the 10th class process of collecting final figures from User Departments. Updated post-wise and category-wise vacancies will be made available on the SSC website in due course. Note that State-wise or Zone-wise vacancies are not collected by the Commission.

Reservation will be provided as per extant Government Orders for:

SC – Scheduled Castes
ST – Scheduled Tribes
OBC – Other Backward Classes
EWS – Economically Weaker Sections
ESM – Ex-Servicemen
PwBD – Persons with Benchmark Disabilities
Note: ESM vacancies are reserved only for Group 'C' posts (Stenographer Grade 'D'). Only male candidates are eligible for vacancies (if any) in Stenographer Grade 'D' for the Border Roads Organization (BRO).

3 Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

A candidate must be a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from specified countries (Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia or Vietnam) with the intention of permanently settling in India.

4 How to Apply

Applications must be submitted only in online mode via the SSC Headquarters website (https://ssc.gov.in) or through the my SSC mobile application (available on Google Play Store).

Step-by-Step Process

  1. 1 One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new SSC website (https://ssc.gov.in). Earlier OTR from the old website (ssc.nic.in) will not work.
  2. 2 Opt for Aadhaar Based Authentication (recommended) β€” applications will not be rejected on photo/signature standards.
  3. 3 Capture a live photograph through the application module β€” no pre-existing photos. Avoid caps, masks, and spectacles.
  4. 4 Upload scanned signature in JPEG/JPG format (10–20 KB; ~6.0 cm Γ— 2.0 cm).
  5. 5 Pay the application fee online via BHIM UPI, Net Banking, Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, or RuPay Debit cards.

Final allocation of posts is Admit Card made based on the candidate's performance in the CBE and merit-cum-preferences of Posts/Departments. Skill Test is qualifying in nature; final merit is determined solely by CBE marks.

Probation Period: Selected candidates will be on probation for 2 years, with All India Service Liability (AISL).
