Recruitment Overview
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the official notification for Selection Posts Phase-XIV/2026, opening the door for eligible Indian citizens to apply for 3,003 government posts spread across various Central Government Ministries, Departments, and Organisations. The recruitment spans all nine SSC Regional Offices covering every State and Union Territory of India.
This is one of the most significant SSC recruitment drives of the year, covering posts at three qualification levels — Matriculation (10th), Higher Secondary (10+2), and Graduation & Above — across diverse fields including engineering, healthcare, scientific research, forestry, defence quality assurance, meteorology, administration, and more.
The selection process will be conducted through a Computer Based Examination (CBE) in objective multiple-choice format. Candidates who qualify will undergo document scrutiny by the respective User Departments, followed by skill tests (where applicable) and final document verification.

Eligibility Criteria
Nationality
Candidates must be a citizen of India. Subjects of Nepal, Bhutan, Tibetan refugees (who came to India before 01 January 1962), and persons of Indian origin migrated from specified countries (Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries, etc.) with the intention of permanently settling in India are also eligible, provided they hold a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.
Educational Qualification
The minimum educational qualification varies by post and falls into three levels. Candidates must possess the required EQ on or before 04 May 2026:

Application Fee
Fee payable online only via BHIM UPI, Net Banking, Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, or RuPay Credit/Debit Card. Last date for fee payment: 05 May 2026 (11:00 PM). Fee once paid is non-refundable.
Correction Window Charges: First correction — ₹200; Second correction — ₹500 (applicable to all candidates, 11–13 May 2026).
How to Apply
Applications must be submitted online at https://ssc.gov.in or through the mySSC mobile app (Google Play Store).
Step 1 — One-Time Registration (OTR): If not already registered on the new SSC website, complete a fresh OTR. The old OTR from ssc.nic.in will not work. You'll need your Aadhaar number, mobile number, email ID, and Matriculation certificate details. SSC strongly recommends Aadhaar Based Authentication.
Step 2 — Fill Application Form: Log in → Click "Apply" under Phase-XIV/2026 → Fill post-specific details → Capture live photograph through webcam/mobile → Upload scanned signature (JPEG, 10–20 KB, approx. 6cm × 2cm) → Review in Preview → Submit → Pay fee.
Apply separately for each post category with separate fee. Only one application per post is allowed — duplicates lead to cancellation.
Examination Pattern
The CBE consists of objective-type MCQs. Three separate exams for the three qualification levels, but all share the same structure:

English: Error Spotting, Fill in Blanks, Synonyms/Antonyms, Idioms, One Word Substitution, Active/Passive, Direct/Indirect, Cloze & Comprehension Passages.
📕 Graduation & Above Level
General Intelligence: Verbal + Non-verbal — Syllogistic Reasoning, Statement-Conclusion, Address Matching, Critical Thinking, all 10+2 level topics at higher complexity.
General Awareness: Deeper coverage of current events, India & neighbours, scientific aspects.
Quantitative Aptitude: 10th standard level (same as 10+2 syllabus).
English: Graduation-level comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, writing. Parts A, B, D at Graduation level; Part C at 10th standard.

Selection Process
Stage 1 — Computer Based Examination (CBE): Objective MCQ exam. Marks normalized if multiple shifts held.
Stage 2 — Shortlisting & Document Upload: Qualified candidates (above cut-off) shortlisted by merit in prescribed ratios. Must upload self-attested documents on SSC portal.
Stage 3 — Scrutiny of Documents: The User Department scrutinizes uploaded documents to verify eligibility.
Stage 4 — Skill Test (where applicable): Typing/Data Entry/Computer Proficiency tests conducted by User Department or Regional Office. Qualifying in nature.
Stage 5 — Document Verification (DV): In-person verification by User Department. All originals required.
Stage 6 — Final Selection: Based on CBE score, clearances, and skill test. Final Select List prepared and nominees forwarded for appointment.

Tie-Breaking Criteria
When candidates have equal total scores, ties are resolved in this order: (1) Total Normalized Marks in CBE → (2) Part-A marks → (3) Part-B marks → (4) Part-C marks → (5) Older candidate placed higher → (6) Alphabetical order of names.
Key Points to Remember
Candidature is provisional at every stage. Detailed scrutiny occurs only after CBE. False claims at any stage lead to cancellation.
Name and Date of Birth must exactly match your Matriculation certificate. Any mismatch can lead to rejection.
OBC candidates must not fall in the creamy layer as on 04 May 2026.
EWS candidates must possess an Income & Asset Certificate valid for FY 2026–27 (based on income for FY 2025–26).
Scribe Facility: Available for eligible PwBD candidates. Own scribes must complete OTR and Aadhaar authentication on SSC's website. Scribe's qualification must be one level below the candidate's. Compensatory time: 20 minutes per hour.
